Literacy Highland Lakes depends on volunteers and donors. LHL volunteers offer hope to their neighbors, community members and fellow adults struggling with reading--hope for a better job; hope for a better future. Along with the literacy program, the organization offers people (at no charge) classes in English as a Second Language (ESL), High School Equivalency (GED) prep and Citizenship studies. While we receive some financial support from foundations and organizations, we rely heavily on fundraisers and donations from individuals to fund our operational expenses.
